Exanimatvm was a death metal band born in the southernmost city of Punta Arenas, Chile. It was initially characterized by a raw and aggressive sound in the vein of Incantation, Sadistic Intent, and Dead Congregation. Their final album, "Sollum ipsa mor", reflects an evolution toward a less violent but darker sound, incorporating some black metal influences and bringing it closer to bands like Grave Miasma.
