Composer and conductor, and one of the leading interpreters of contemporary music, Péter Eötvös was born in Transylvania and has strong roots in the Hungarian musical culture of Bartók, Kodály, Ligeti and Kurtág. Graduating from the Budapest Academy of Music, he continued his musical studies in Germany at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne.
