Viya is a Turkish folk-fusion band, formed in İstanbul TR in 2008, consisting of Barış Demirel on Bass Guitar, Melodica, Trumpet, Vocals, Özgür Çakır on Guitars and Effects, Zeynep Türkmen on Violin, Aydın Türkoğlu on Drums and Bass Guitar, and Ege Türkmenler on Drums.

Viya means "Body surfing" in the "Laz" language, and as they improvise, they ride the waves of creation and inspiration on their bodies.
