Artist Detailed Info: Hoppa Essentials

The band Hoppa Essentials came together in 2007. Batur with guitar, Kuzey with percussion and drums, Onur with the bag pipe, baglama ve panduri, Rifat with bass guitar, Gorkem with his vocals are musicians who have different styles of expressing their music, now have a different perspective that modernizes North and East Turkish music with western sounds like jazz, blues, rock and funk by combining them all. By collecting their indivual approaches to music under one umbrella of ethnical music the group members have created a synthesis of experimental and improvisation on Anatolian rhythms. After trying to set the western harmonization on ethnic music the group has made performances at Liverpool International Street Festival 2007 and 2008 in UK and Volos International Art Festival in Greece. The group keeps on performing in Ankara.
